My spiritual counseling practice now operates through "Designed to Blossom of AIWP," a non-denominational congregation I established in 2006. The Association for the Integration of the Whole Person (AIWP) is a 501c3 non-profit that supports ministers and spiritual counselors like me in providing quality services to individuals and communities seeking support. One advantage of working this way is that it allows clients to deduct what they pay for my services from their taxes as a charitable contribution.
I am currently on a private practice sabbatical, as my family is moving from Berkeley, California to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I plan to 're-open my doors' to a select group of clients some time in the Spring of 2019. Given my intention to prioritize art, writing and teaching projects next year, I may not have too many openings for new clients. If you would like to be on my waiting list, please contact me in the Spring, or let me know here.
GETTING STARTED: For clients who are interested in working with me, I recommend starting with an initial hour-long session, where we get to know each other. If the fit is good, we will come up with a counseling intention together and choose to do a number of sessions over an agreed-upon period of time. (Sessions are usually every other week, although I may ask for a degree of scheduling flexibility.) After our time is complete, we can reevaluate to see if we want to go another round. Whether or not a counseling relationship is chosen, I offer my full attention, giudance and support during this session, and do my best to help you find your right next step.
I have clients all over the world. Sessions take place over the phone or via SKYPE.
Except for people with whom I have special arrangements, emails and calls are used primarily for scheduling purposes.
I have a 48 hour cancelation policy. If clients aren't able to give me an early enough heads-up, I do my best to reschedule the session within the same week, so I don't have to receive the agreed upon contribution/donation for the missed session, though this isn't always possible.
Clients using VENMO an pay directly to an account called "Designed to Blossom of AIWP."
If you sense you'd enjoy receiving my support & guidance, and would like to be on my waiting list, please contact me!
Disclaimer: I am an ordained minister and provide something more akin to spiritual counseling than psychotherapy. The work I do is with highly functional people, for whom ‘spirit’ plays a central role in their life. I do not give diagnoses, work with pathology, or claim to be an expert offering a treatment or cure.
