Quote from article by Jahi Chikwendiu from The Washington Post:
"Summer’s Sunday circle of drums and dancers has been a constant heartbeat of D.C.’s Meridian Hill Park for nearly 50 years. The circle is said to have officially started the week of the assassination of Malcolm X in 1965... Today, the circle is a rainbow of people, the rhythms a soundtrack for yoga, hula-hooping, slacklining, whatever. The gathering is open to anyone with something to strike, shake or scrape, but there’s a fine line between individuality and democracy. The playing must serve the beat, and the beat must serve the group."
Cosmometry (Exploring the Fractal Holographic Nature of the Cosmos) To learn more about the fascinating field of Cosmometry, go to: Cosmometry.net
"Cosmometry is an emerging field of knowledge and application that is the synthesis of millennia of observation, study, theory, and direct experience – scientifically and metaphysically – of the fundamental patterns, structures, processes, and principles of universal creation. Be it through physics, music, bio-energetics, visionary art, shamanic journeys… a unified understanding of cosmic coherence is arising in consciousness at a new level of integration and wholeness."
"The premise of cosmometry is that the universe is a fractal-holographic phenomenon composed of a synergetic interplay of energy and consciousness which always and only coexist in the ongoing creation of physical and metaphysical existence at all scales. This is also the fundamental insight of many spiritual and mystical traditions. Science and Spirit are converging into a unified awareness wherein the purely metaphysical and the purely physical pursuits of knowledge become seamlessly integrated."

These two-week seminars are well planned and safeguarded journeys into the soul of the country through a Jungian expressive arts therapy lens.
Indigenous cultures have always known that the psyche is revealed not only through words, but through images, symbols and the body. The Expressive Arts reawaken the language of image, movement, sound, metaphor, drama and poetic utterances, revealing the deepest aspects of the self and expressing what often cannot be put into words. "With the sole purpose of nurturing some of India’s most vulnerable children, Bethany Ashram opened St. Antony’s Home in 2004. While plans for the Home had been under way, when the Tsunami struck the coastal areas of Tamilnadu that same year and left many children without homes or—even worse—without parents, the need for a children’s home in this region became even more critical. Since 2004, St. Antony’s has helped raise over 35 boys ages 7 through 18.
The home is situated in Vencode, Tamilnadu, a tiny village just 60 kilometers from the southern tip of India. Twenty eight boys currently reside in St. Antony’s Home all of whom are either orphans or semi-orphans. Some have been affected by the tsunami; others by broken homes, lost parents, or caretakers with life-threatening illnesses like TB, AIDS and Leprosy—diseases often shunned by society."

Healing the Wounds of History (worldwide) To learn more about this profound and transformative process, go to: healingthewoundsofhistory.org
Healing the Wounds of History is a process in which experiential techniques are used to work with a group of participants who share a common legacy of historical trauma. The process was developed by Armand Volkas who is a psychotherapist, drama therapist and theatre director from Berkeley, California. Volkas is the son of Auschwitz survivors and resistance fighters from World War II. He was moved by his personal struggle with this legacy of historical trauma to address the issues that arose from it: identity, victimization and perpetration, meaning and grief.
Healing the Wounds of History is based on the premise that there can be no political solutions to intercultural conflict until we understand and take into consideration the needs, emotions and unconscious drives of the human being. Healing the Wounds of History, which takes a psychological approach to conflict, provides a map to help both groups traverse the emotional terrain to reconciliation. We invite participants from groups in conflict, who are willing to be emotional pioneers for their cultures, to participate in this groundbreaking work:
Breaking the taboo against “enemies” speaking to each other
Humanizing each other through sharing our personal stories
Taking steps towards healing personal and collective wounds using creative and experiential methods
Transforming historical trauma into constructive action and service
